From an early age, I have always been passionate about music, and drums in particular: I formed my first band when I was twelve years old and have played almost constantly ever since.
Today, I am as enthusiastic about music as ever, having been playing and learning drums for over eighteen years, and teaching for the last six. In that time, I have played in some fantastic bands and studied with some of the best drum teachers in the country. I have a Grade 8 drum kit performance qualification with distinction, the highest level attainable.

DRUM TEACHER | DANIEL PRESSLEY:
After moving to Cardiff in 2008, I soon established myself as an elite session drummer and teacher in Wales, appearing on stage at some of the region’s best venues and festivals, as well as on various television and radio shows. In my career a session drummer in Cardiff and throughout Wales, I have compiled an impressive résumé of session credits, performing live and in the studio for such artists as Charlotte Church, Christine Collister, Jonathan Powell, Davy Knowles, Sion Russell Jones, Anna Goldsmith and Colum Regan. My own band, Snow in June, is scheduled to release its eponymous debut album in summer 2011, so watch this space.
But of course, a good drum teacher has to be more than just a good drummer. Having taught as a lecturer for several years at the University of Warwick, prior to becoming a full-time musician, I have a solid grounding in education and a detailed understanding of how people learn. As a teacher, my focus is always on the student and what will best prepare them for future performances on stage, in the studio and in the exam room.
I enjoy all styles of music and have played drum kit in a huge number of bands, ranging from rock and pop acts to jazz, funk and world music ensembles. If you would like to find out more about me and my work as a drummer, please contact me.
